Tokyo Humanities Café 25 will take place on Friday, 6 March 2026 at 7 pm (please note this is 30 minutes earlier than previous events).


As well as starting at a NEW TIME we have a NEW LOCATION: Impact HUB Tokyo in Meguro (https://hubtokyo.com) which is 8 minutes walk downhill from Meguro Station and 12 minutes walk from Nakameguro.


Join us for a series of engaging, 15-minute accessible talks from top experts on topics including Jane Austen, Poetry and Journalism, the Opening of Japan and Japanese public statues. 



Ros Ballaster – “Fashion in Regency Adaptations: Jane Austen to Bridgerton”


Yuri Kageyama – “Poet as Journalist, Journalist as Poet”


Wiliiam McOme – “The Human Side of the Opening of Japane”


Sven Saaler – “Heroic Representations of the Nation: Public Statues in Modern Japan”



To help cover venue costs, there will be a 500 yen entry charge, and we kindly ask that you purchase at least one drink at the bar.
